Sweet Dreams Are Made of These

Lovely lantern ladies paying tribute to the new addition to our world!*

Félicitations aux parents, Lydia et Joël! Bienvenue Arno Jazz!

I’m off to Montreal for the weekend to see my almost-nephew, le petit Arno** qu’il est superbeau! The little guy was born last week after lots of hard work by maman Lydia.

I had the best time buying baby gifts this week. Checking out baby goods is an awesome way to relieve stress for baby-obsessed folk like me. I honestly spent far too long deliberating over outfits because I am into buying gender neutral gear, non-branded, character-free gear. I know that’s probably not going to last when I pop a kid out but I’ll do what I can, when I can.

It’s going to be a great weekend since I’ll have time with my baby and time with a baby. 😀 Hurray!

If you hadn’t noticed, I am a bit of a travelling fiend and relish the idea of having time to read and relax on the oh-so-familiar train. I’ve probably ridden this route 100 times now and it still hasn’t gotten old. That’s probably because there is always something and someone good waiting at my destination.

School is slamming down really hard right now and I refuse to crack or do crack. Let’s hope that in between cooing at the cooing baby, I’ll get through all the reading I bring with me. Cross some fingers for me, will ya?

Have a fabulous weekend, lovelies!

*More vintage Singapore pics up on my photostream because I’ve been nostalgic.
**The name has to be pronounced in French. Don’t let the newfangled spelling confuse you. It’s the modernized version of “Arnaud” a name as old school as my own.

ah arno… i hope you will show some photos of the little bugger. even not being terribly baby-obsessed, i do tend to want non-gender-specific clothing for babies. the whole pink/blue thing just plain sucks. what about green, yellow, black (yes i said BLACK) and white? or maybe purple or maroon? i’m going to knit my baby all kinds of non-traditional coloured clothing. down with pastel pinks and blues. i’m all for bright, eye-burning red, bold burnt oranges, and midnight blue.

that said, i will still buy the little sanrio outfits because i am going to dress up my baby like a freak and take a lot of embarrassing photos to show people later on when they’re grown up.
