Lost and Naked in the City Again

Okay, so I’m not really lost and naked. I am in the city, though!

Safe and sound in Singapore doesn’t sound nearly as scintillating. I’m frantically packing for Hong Kong (and obviously blasting the tunes. Naked in the City is one helluva good packing song.)

Holy crap. I can’t believe I am leaving Singapore tomorrow! Where have the past few months gone?! I guess I’ll have loads of time to reflect on it all on my loooooooong transcontinental flight on December 13th. Wheee! 2 weeks till Dave flies up to the T-dot to join me.

Even though I am totally exhausted and a bit rushed, I’ve got a smile on my face. In my thank you note to Alisha I said that my trip to the North of Vietnam was among the best trips I have ever taken. I still believe that. I know that I am ridiculously lucky and have travelled more than most of my peers but that just means that my statement about Hanoi, Sapa and Halong Bay carries more weight. It was truly marvelous. I’d go back in a flash!

If the planets line up correctly, I will give you a real update later tonight. I’m checking out of university housing in a few hours and heading over to G and QY’s place. Hopefully, I’ll be able to organize a last ditch meeting with Albert a distant relative on my mother’s side of the family. I’m keen on taking a peek at Orchard one last time. I’m going to miss this place. Singapore, not just Orchard Rd.!

Hang tight, folks. You know I can’t stay away all that long. If I don’t get a chance to write tonight, you’ll hear from me tomorrow morning from Changi Airport or even later that evening at Pacific Coffee Co. in Hongerville. Ah, glorious free internet. Let me get my vein ready for you…

But much more than the free digital smack in the near future, I am looking forward to reconnecting with family and wandering around one of my favourite cities. Huzzah! I’m a bit burnt out so I don’t know if I’ll drag my ass up to that other wacky SAR, Macau. We’ll see.

If you’re in Hong Kong and environs and want to hook up just drop me a comment. If we’ve already communicated about this, expect a ring from me soon!

I love the holidays. 😀 Yay!
