My Life is Brilliant, My Love is Pure

Thanks to one of Emai’s classic music posts way back while I was still sweating in S’pore, I became addicted to James Blunt easy listening hit. I miss my Singapore life a bit now that I’m back home hence the playing of such Singaporean favourites. You can be sure that a little Tristan Prettyman will get a little spin too.

People keep asking me what it is like to be back and while I admit that it is a mixed bag, I’m generally quite positive. I already feel like some of my peers are already raising eyebrows at some of my decisions, I’m still completely confident in my masterplan that’s not actually rigidly planned. I’m totally in control in areas that I want to control and confident in the universe in those other shadier areas.

There’s still a lot of negativity swirling around the law school but not enough to bring me down. Generally, the positive is winning out. Though it has always been number one in my books, recent years have seen our school’s once untouchable reputation being outshone by others. Even the most recent survey says that we’re back on top as the best law school in Canada. Woot.

That woot lacks an exclamation mark because those surveys can never get across what the school means to each individual student. Anyway, the place has always been right for me. Stress-induced shingles and tonsilitis of last year and all.

I am all rejuvenated and revved up for this semester. This Zen Master is ready for action.

Some highlights that keep me high:

– Cooking and baking wholesome and delicious eats for school. Aaaaaaaah. It feels so damn good to do things I love that do my body good.
– Making lists and crossing those tasks off quickly.
– Finally being able to check my Singapore marks and being pleasantly surprised with the results. Score.
– Loving my courses so far. Even the black letter ones.

Now I’ve just to catch up on piles of correspondence and plow through some more on my mental to-do list. If I owe you some words, they’re on the way. Hang tight.
