Snap, Crackle and Pop
You folks sure are quiet these days, eh? Maybe you’ve been having some issues with the universe too. I don’t know.
I broke my bottle of D&G Light Blue perfume today. Cracked glass, alcohol vapour and all that jazz. It was tragic. I stood frozen at the sink, staring in disbelief at the smashed bottle my perfume-soaked hand clutched. Being an absurd fool, I just put the bloody mess into a tupperware container while I went off to class with a massive headache and heavy heart. My little stinky fragrant cabinet of curiosities. Not. Needless to say, I dumped my lovely pink plastic container and precious expensive designer liquid pheremones into the trash.
They may be from totally different planets, but Robert and my mother had the same response: “Duty Free at the airport!”
Meh. I think it’s part of God’s plan to steer me towards a new signature scent. Light Blue took off where YSL Babydoll left off. Somewhere in between there was a little Jean-Paul Gaultier Fragile edt. And of course, the high school Tommy Girl days are loooooooong gone.
Anyway, that was my day. No tears shed, though. No crying over spilt perfume. This is remarkable considering I got a whopping 4 hours of shut-eye last night. I’m likely to repeat that crappy excuse for a night’s sleep tonight. Grumble.
I didn’t manage to finish my public law essay as planned, but I did do a few hours of research for my consent essay for criminal theory. Really interesting stuff. Oh! That reminds me to bring the Mill readings along. The old political philosophy stand-bys are highly relevant. But there’s also lots of hardcore contemporary feminist and queer theory spicing things up. I never realized that there was a whole world of amazing legal theory. It’s incredibly refreshing to see these interdisciplinary theoretical discussions wrapping themselves around case comments. I may have found my niche. I don’t know.
It’s late. I’m tired; and there’s tonnes of packing to do so I should stop getting lost in nerdland.
I can’t guarantee updates from Taipei; so try not to miss me too much this week. I’ll be back next Wednesday. Think you can survive till then? I’ll likely miss my own entries more than you. 😛
Think of me as I take off at 12:30 in the afternoon Singapore time. I like knowing that there are people looking out for me while I travel. I’ll be sending you safe and happy vibes too! Hope that your week will also be full of fun and wonder. Wheeeeeeeeeee!

I still think of you when I smell light blue (rhyming not on purpose). Someone at the new office wears it, and so it’s a repeated – and nice – reminder in that dark cold place that there are bright cool people in the world.

OMG…..hopefully you weren’t damaged too much by exploding sex!
crazy, it just broke huh? Hmmm, new fragrance huh? I have no idea. I tend to pick fragrances based on the appearance of the bottle more than anything else. How lame am i. lol.
GO QUEER THEORY!!!! I studied it for a few semesters at school. I loved it. It basically told me that everything is a LIE and to fuck everything up! LOL…
okay maybe not. My professors were both pretty militant bisexual girls with angry faces.

(can i get nerdier than that?!) AND have fun traveling and packing. I love packing. It can be stressful at times (been at both ends where i actually have a proper inventory and times where i just throw everythign in a duffel bag and go), but i find it invigorating nonetheless. it’s part of the excitement of traveling….anyway, i’ll talk to you later… keep in touch 🙂
