Faith/Fate

Yesterday, when I was catching up with Ewa on MSN, she mentioned something that was prima facie a disappointment but easily construed as a positive outcome. Ewa’s rationalization of the specific situation matched my own position. What’s more, it reminded me again of how much I believe that, to a certain extent, things happen for a reason.

I’m in flux right now since there’s a possibility that we’ll get to climb Mt. Kinabalu afterall. Another group of NUS exchange students had inadvertently made multiple bookings for accomodation on the mountain. Their recent discoveries of botched planning and subsequent cancellations will free up beds that may be snatched up by us.

In my last entry, I expressed relief about not having to climb the mountain because of sickness and potential injury. While I’m still worried about my body’s ability to put up with intential abuse, I would love to propel it to the top of the SE Asia.

That’s just the beauty if having faith. Here I am trusting divine intervention. Fate, if you will, to step in and guide me to the best Borneo adventure. Tomorrow, I fill you in on the results of this lottery and tell you a real bedtime story.

Now cue George Michael.

Do it!!! Take pictures!!! When I climbed to the dizzying heights of Silver Peak (at an astounding 580 meters) I felt so great that I DID IT!! I will always remember how I puffed my way up (Graham basically had to drag me), complaining all the way, but when I finally got there I decided it was SO worth it. The view! The view is your reward! DO it!!
